Raw RDAP JSON
Tool description
Traditional WHOIS is not browser-friendly. RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) is the modern, structured replacement that works over HTTPS and can be queried from a web page.
How to use
- Enter a domain, IP address, ASN (like AS13335), or full URL.
- Leave “Type” on Auto-detect (or choose a type if needed).
- Click Lookup to fetch RDAP data and view the summary.
- Use Copy buttons to export the summary or raw JSON.
Why it’s useful
- Check domain registration metadata and status flags.
- Investigate IP ownership ranges and related handles.
- Copy raw RDAP JSON for incident response or reporting.
Use cases & interpretation
- Security investigations: confirm registrar, nameservers, or IP range owner.
- Abuse reporting: extract relevant contact/handle information where available.
- Operations: verify expiration events and status codes.
FAQs
WHOIS often requires TCP port access and returns unstructured text. RDAP is standardized JSON over HTTPS and
is more reliable for modern web tooling.
Not necessarily. Many registries redact personal details for privacy. You may still get registrar and status
information.
